hi everyone!
 
other than my husband, i have two passions in life - my business & cooking!  i can’t remember a time when cooking was not a part of my life.  when most people played with dolls or figurines growing up, i played chef with my little toy kitchen utensils set.  of course the indian utensil set that i had was a bit different than your average corningware kid's set; it had a stove that ran on fake coals & a knife that you had to sit on the floor to use, but regardless, i loved it!
 
i have no formal training in the kitchen, but obsess over cooking shows that can help me improve my kitchen skills, & now i am excited to announce that i am actually on one!
 
starting saturday, august 30th, you can watch me hone my cooking skills as one of the students on the food network's new show, the cooking loft, which is hosted by Alexandra Guarnaschelli, the executive chef of butter in nyc!  although my specialty is indian food, Alex taught me many new recipes and techniques.   i also got to taste some amazing food that i actually helped make!  so if you too have a secret obsession for the food network or just want to see how a pro can teach some amateurs a thing or two, please watch us this season!
