other than her husband, Shobha Tummala has two passions in life - her business & cooking! cooking has always been a part of her life. when most people played with dolls or figurines growing up, Shobha played chef with her little toy kitchen utensils set. of course the indian utensil set that she had was a bit different than your average corningware kid's set; it had a stove that ran on fake coals & a knife that you had to sit on the floor to use, but regardless, she loved it!
although Shohba has no formal training in the kitchen, she obsesses over cooking shows that help her improve her kitchen skills, & now she is actually on one!
you can watch Shobha hone her cooking skills as one of the students on the food network's new show, the cooking loft, which is hosted by Alexandra Guarnaschelli, the executive chef of butter in nyc! although her specialty is indian food, Alex taught Shobha many new recipes & techniques. so if you too have a secret obsession for the food network or just want to see how a pro can teach some amateurs a thing or two, please watch this season!
